Polyanthus primula 'Crescendo'® is one of the most popular bedding plants from November through April. Very long lived and winter-hardy, the series comes in bright flower colors and is the earliest possibility for growers to sell cheerfulness and fresh colour as the winter ends. Its earliness, performance and colour power make 'Crescendo'® a favourite in any spring assortment. Planted in the autumn, 'Crescendo'® primulas are a winter and spring delight in gardens, parks and public green spaces.
'Crescendo'® primroses were developed during several decades of intense breeding activities at Benary, Germany. A great market success for years, 'Crescendo'® has become synonymous with high-quality perennial primulas. So much so, in fact, that there have been several cases of copycats offering primula seed or plants under the 'Crescendo'® label, though they were clearly not using original Benary items. These varieties, of course, did not show the high performance of the original 'Crescendo'® seed or plants.
Growers are strongly advised to use the original 'Crescendo'® seed or plants only. This is very much in their own interest in order to prevent inferior plant material from getting onto the market under the label 'Crescendo'. Unauthorised use of the name is, of course, also liable to prosecution, because 'Crescendo'® is a registered trademark by Benary.
