TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Life Cycle:  Perennial
Familiy, Origin:  Ranunculaceae, North America
Sitelocation:  Partial shade - shade
Garden Height:  25 cm
  9,84 inch
Flower Size:  3 cm
  1,18 inch
Natural flowertime:  May - July
Crop Time:  10-12 months
Seed Form:  Raw
Seed Count:  741 K/g
Sowing Method:  3-5 seeds per plug
Germination:  12-18 days at 20 °C during daytime and at 5 °C during night, in media with low soluble salt levels and pH: 6.0-7.0. Before sowing treat substrate with fungicide against Sclerotinia. Requires light for germination. Keep soil slightly moist but not wet. Avoid direct sunlight by shading seeds after sowing. Germination is approx. 2 weeks later than 'Annabella White'.
Plug Culture:  From Stage II* reduce the soil moisture, but the plug should not dry out and reduce the temperature to 18 °C. Do not let soluble salt level rise above 0,50 EC. Start fertilization at 50 ppm nitrogen in a well balanced formula. During Stage III and Stage IV fertilization levels can be increased up to 130 ppm.
Growing On:  6-8 weeks after sowing transplant 3-5 plants into a pot (8-15 cm). Avoid root damage. Ensure good pot size, to encourage root growth, thus improving plant development.
Media:  Use a well-drained, growing perennial substrate with 0-15 % clay, 0-15 % organic parts (e.g. wood fibres, bark) 1-1,5 kg/m³ complete balanced fertilizer, 1-2 kg/m³ slow release fertilizer (3-9 months), iron-chelate, micronutrients, pH: 6.0-7.0.
Photoperiod / Light:  Day length neutral plant. Flowering pot production in winter and spring with additional assimilation light improves the plant quality.
Temperature:  Grow at 12-15 °C or outdoors. In winter indoors frost free at 3-5 °C or outdoors. Outdoor fleece needed. In spring the plants start to grow indoor for 7-8 weeks at 12-18 °C or cold outdoors for flowering in May.
Fertilization:  Moderate fertilization levels are required. Fertilize the crop weekly with 100-130 ppm nitrogen (at 2 kg/m³ slow release fertilizer in substrate), using a complete balanced fertilizer. Avoid high ammonium and high nitrogen levels. Don't fertilize after mid September. In spring fertilize with 130-150 ppm nitrogen using a complete balanced fertilizer. Prevent magnesium deficiency by applying magnesium sulphate (0,05 %) 1-2 times and in case of Iron deficiency apply iron-chelate for 1-2 times. The roots are sensitive to high salt levels in substrates.
Cultural Hints:  Dry, light and airy cultivation. After planting and during the initial growth period treat pots with fungicide against Sclerotinia.
