  23,62 inch
Natural flowertime:  June - August
Crop Time:  Plug crop: 6-8 weeks; Green pots: 10-12 weeks; Flowering pots: 16-18 weeks, annual production is possible
Sell Period:  June-October
Seed Form:  Raw Seed
Seed Count:  498 K/g
Sowing Time:  February-May for flowering in pots May onwards and June-August for flowering in pots following year 'Lady Stratheden': February-May for green pots and June-August for flowering in pots following year
Sowing Method:  1-2 seeds per plug
Germination:  20-30 days at 18-21 °C, in media with low soluble salt levels and pH: 5.5-6.5. Before sowing treat substrate with fungicide. Requires light for germination. Cover seed lightly with vermiculite after sowing. Keep soil slightly moist but not wet. Avoid direct sunlight by shading seeds after sowing.
Plug Culture:  From Stage II* reduce the soil moisture, but the plug should not dry out and reduce the temperature to 18 °C. Do not let soluble salt level rise above 0,75 EC. Start fertilization at 75 ppm nitrogen in a well balanced formula. During Stage III and Stage IV fertilization levels can be increased to 150 ppm.
Growing On:  4-5 weeks after sowing transplant 1 plant into a pot (11-15 cm) and 2-3 plants into a container (3-5 l). Plant cut flowers (frost free) in 20x20 cm space. Protect the plant against wind.
Media:  Use a well-drained, growing substrate with 0-15 % clay, 0-15 % parts (e.g. bark, wood fibres), 1-1,5 kg/m³ complete balanced fertilizer, 2-3 kg/m³ slow release fertilizer (3-9 months), iron-chelate, micronutrients, pH: 5.5-6.5. Field: loamy sandy, humus, sandy humus soils with a good drainage. Standard fertilization: 60-80 g/m² of a slow release fertilizer.
Photoperiod / Light:  Day length neutral plants. Avoid in summer high light intensity outdoors by shading pots. In greenhouse protect the plants with shade against high temperatures in summer. In winter additional assimilation light for early forcing (from CW 51 earliest) in combination with warm temperatures is required.
Temperature:  Grow at 12-18 °C or outdoors. In winter indoors frost free at 3-5 °C or outdoors. Outdoors fleece cover needed. In spring the plants start to grow for 8-10 weeks at 10-18 °C. Warm temperatures at 15-18 °C will decrease the cultivation time, but for early forcing additional assimilation light is required. A chilling period (vernalization) for flower initiation will promote the flowering for 'Mrs. Bradshaw'.
Fertilization:  Moderate-high fertilization levels are required. Fertilize the crop weekly with 100-150 ppm nitrogen (at 3 kg/m³ slow release fertilizer in substrate), using alternating a potassium balanced fertilizer (N: K2O-ratio: 1:1,5) and calcium nitrate fertilizer. Avoid high ammonium and high nitrogen levels. Very high nitrogen levels in substrate cause shoot stretching and the shoots fall apart. Don't fertilize after mid September. In spring fertilize 150-200 ppm nitrogen of a complete balanced fertilizer. Field: If necessary according to analysis, improve the soil with 60-80 g/m² of a slow release fertilizer per year, applied in several portions.
Cut Flowers:  Cut flower stems can be harvested, when the flowers are half open. Vase life: 5-7 days. Cold storage is not possible. Remove spent flower stems to encourage additional flowers.
Cultural Hints:  The roots are very sensitive to wet substrates and soils. Short time wetness can cause rotting of roots and poor plant quality. Take care of a good drainage outdoors, but avoid that the soils dry out. After planting and in spring treat pots with fungicide against Botrytis.

Hint
The cultural recommendations are based on results from trials conducted under Central European conditions. Different conditions in other parts of the world may lead to deviations in results achieved.
