B4130 - ARABIS CAUCASICA, ROCK CRESS
'Snowfix'
Like a dusting of fresh snow, Arabis 'Snowfix' blankets the garden with small bright white flowers. This FastraX perennial forms uniform 5" (12 cm) tall mounds in perennial borders. Early blooming, 'Snowfix' adds appeal to spring flower beds before most flowers begin to unfold.
'Snowfix's uniform habit adds an elegance to the garden when planted as edges or used along rock walls. Preferring well drained soil and less water 'Snowfix' can be used in places where minimal maintenance is required. 'Snowfix' can also be used in mixed containers. Plant Arabis 'Snowfix' along with 'FamaX' Pansies, Bellis 'Tasso'®, Myosotis 'Sylva' and Aquilegia 'Spring Magic'® for early spring combinations.

| Crop Time: | |
Plug crop: 6 weeks; Green pots: 8-12 weeks; Flowering pots: 5 months without vernalisation, 8 months with vernalisation
| Seed Form: | |
Raw Seed
| Sowing Time: | |
Green pots: January-June; Flowering pots: Early August-Mid September for flowering in 8th week
| Sowing Method: | |
1-3 seeds per plug
| Germination: | |
10-14 days at 18-22 °C in media with very low soluble salt levels and pH: 6.0-6.5. Cover seed lightly with vermiculite after sowing. Keep soil slightly moist but not wet.
| Plug Culture: | |
From Stage II reduce the soil moisture but the plug should not dry out and reduce the temperature to 16-18 °C. Do not let soluble salt level rise above 0,50 EC. Start fertilization at 50 ppm nitrogen in a well balanced formula. During Stage III and Stage IV fertilization levels can be increased to 100-130 ppm.
| Growing On: | |
4-5 weeks after sowing transplant 1 plant into a pack or pot (8-10 cm) and 3-5 plants into a bigger pot (13-15 cm).
| Media: | |
Use a well-drained, growing perennial substrate, pH: 6.0-6.5.
| Photoperiod / Light: | |
Day length neutral plants. Start in spring with supplemental lighting (30-40 klx) when the temperature rises above 15 °C for good plant quality.
| Temperature: | |
Grow at 12-15 °C or outdoors. In winter indoors frost free at 3-5 °C or outdoors. Outdoor fleece cover needed. In spring the plants start to grow (from week 51 possible) for 9-11 weeks at 8-10 °C or for 5-6 weeks at 15-18 °C.
| Fertilization: | |
Moderate fertilization levels are required.
| Cultural Hints: | |
A cold cultivation is possible at temperatures 4-5 °C, but the crop time is increasing. In winter at temperatures above 15 °C supplemental light is required for growth stimulating.

Hint
The cultural recommendations are based on results from trials conducted under Central European conditions. Different conditions in other parts of the world may lead to deviations in results achieved.
