| Sell Period: | |
June-August
| Seed Form: | |
Raw Seed
| Seed Count: | |
610 K/g
| Sowing Method: | |
Multiple sow, 3-5 seeds per plug
| Germination: | |
Dark germinator. Provide a thin Vermiculite cover, maintain uniform moisture level. From Stage II on reduce moisture level and reduce the temperature to 18 °C. Grow on maintaining a uniform moisture level.
| Plug Culture: | |
From Stage II* reduce the soil moisture, but the plug should not dry out and reduce the temperature to 18 °C. Do not let soluble salt level rise above 0,50 EC. Start fertilization at 50-75 ppm nitrogen in a well balanced formula. During Stage III and Stage IV fertilization levels can be increased to 150 ppm.
| Growing On: | |
4-6 weeks after sowing transplant 1 plant per plug tray (4x4 cm). 6-10 weeks later transplant 1-2 plants into a pot (10-12 cm) and 3 plants into a bigger pot (13-15 cm). Two time transplantation supports root development and young plant quality.
| Media: | |
Use a friable humic substrate with a pH of 5.5-7.0.
| Photoperiod / Light: | |
When forcing the plants very early in spring, providing long days (14 hours) with
supplemental lighting and warm conditions will
reduce crop time.
| Temperature: | |
15-18 °C, start ventilating at 20 °C. When plants have established in the pot
reduce temperature to 12-15 °C or place the plants outdoors. Plants may be overwintered in house at 3-5 °C or in the field. Cover the plants in the field with a non-woven cloth to
protect from direct sunlight. Force warm at 15-18 °C or cold at 12-15 °C. The cooler the growing temperature, the more compact the plant habit and the better the plant quality.
| Fertilization: | |
Requires low nutrient levels.
| Cultural Hints: | |
Keeping the media uniformly moist but on the dry side will help prevent mildew problems.
