No sooner have Benary's German Pack Trials come to a successful close than the company is already preparing for another flower show – the Flower Trials in Holland from June 14-16, 2006. The purpose of the company's participation is to leverage the synergy effects produced by this "young" bedding plant show, which has won high repute in just a short time.
Under the motto "Small but powerful", Benary will be presenting the spotlights of its new introductions and specialties under the roof of Combifleur in s'Gravenzande. One of Benary's main attractions at the Flower Trials is the new vegetative hybrid Begonia 'Jolly'®, which was also a favorite among the visitors of the IPM in February and the Benary Pack Trials in May. The compact plant is densely covered with a myriad of small flowers in apricot, red, and bronze leaf scarlet. Its short crop time and versatile uses as a basket, bedding, border, and container plant make it a genuine highlight of the Flower Trials. Apart from having an outstanding plant quality and being extremely early, these striking beauties – the new bronze leaf tuberous begonia series 'Nonstop Mocca' and fibrous begonia series 'Nightlife' – feature a fascinating contrast between their brilliant flower colors and exotic leaf colors. The new 'Sprint Scarlet' has moved to the top of the main colors of the early fibrous begonia series.
Newcomer 'Sprint Blush' rounds off the display of Benary's begonia range with a vivid iridescent white and pink color combination.
Benary also stages a platform for perennial novelties. The pot Eryngium 'Blue Hobbit' is unique, with a compact habit of just 30 cm garden height and globe-shaped shimmering blue pincushion flowers. The new 'Astary'® is the first annualized astilbe in the market and comes in Pink, Rose and White with a compact habit and versatile marketing possibilities.
The new vigorous Pentas series 'Kaleidoscope', the exceptional Rudbeckia 'Prairie Sun', both in impressive containers, and spectacular baskets of iridescent Begonia 'Illumination'® colors all will combine to create the framework for Benary's use-oriented display at the Flower Trials 2006.
"Experience has shown us that growers don't have time in May to bother with innovations in the ornamentals market. Calendar week 24 is a better time to attend flower shows. This is why we have accepted the offer to book a small area at Combifleur. We are planning to participate in the Flower Trials once again in 2007 in an effort to access other target groups – such as international growers and retailers, as well as our regular clients, who still prefer our traditional Pack Trials," says CEO Nick ten Pas taking a look into the future.
