Benary World Championship to Start with the IPM 2006 in February: Strong Novelties in the Forward Line to Ensure Fast Leads

Some 40 new spring and summer flowering varieties have qualified for next year's Benary World Championship. Playing in the forward positions are Benary's successful pansies and new fast begonia series. Supported by fast FastraX perennials and strong perennial classics on the wings, durable summer flowers are reliable defenders of success.

Pansies are still the outstanding players at the IPM, the preliminary event to the Benary World Championship. With the 'Fancy' and 'Cats'® team, Benary is making two strategic moves that are equally promising:
'Fancy', the compact series for absolutely reliable mass production in early spring and fall, is building on its excellent position with more and better colors. The unique color combination 'Fancy Purple & Orange', and the lovely 'Fancy Primrose' in the pastel range are sure winners with the public.

'Cats® Orange' is the new jazzy team leader of the trendsetting 'Cats'® series of five colors. Supported by point-of-sale material, the unique 'Cats'® series is capturing more and more sales space and forcing its opponents into the defensive. Compact, free-flowering and versatile, Benary's libero Scabiosa 'Ritz Blue' is a newcomer among the spring flowers. Not only does it make a magnificent summer pot; it is also ideal for cultivation along with pansies. An exceptionally robust and vigorous midfield player, Polyanthus 'Crescendo'®, now backed by a novel deep 'Wine' color, produces the year's first vivid spring colors above a green leaf cover.

Under the motto "Blue and White Team for Strength", the new fast FastraX perennials create a big stir. Campanula 'Pearl Light Blue' is a perfect match for the blue and white 'Pearl' duo in terms of habit and versatility. Arabis 'Snowfix' is an ideal snow white dense ground cover that is easy to grow. The new Eryngium 'Blue Glitter', a vernalization-free perennial, is absolutely novel with a long-lived fine blue note. A great performer as a dot plant and productive cut flower, 'Blue Glitter' holds great sales potential.

The IPM 2006 will be the first high-caliber competition in next year's Word Championship, during which Benary will be presenting a first-class team of novelties for spring.

From 26 April through 5 May 2006, Benary's new bronze leaf begonia series and complete pool of novelties will be at the focus of attention in the international Pack Trials Tournament. All professionals from the floriculture industry are cordially invited to visit the show.
